Aquilion Lightning is designed to handle even the busiest workloads with ease. The system’s intuitive user interface guides you step by step through the examination with modern and easy-to-understand graphics and animations. A host of intelligent functions enable a fast and efficient workflow.
Aquilion Lightning offers unique navigation-mode operation that guides the operator through every step of the examination with state-of-the-art computer graphics and animation. Navigation mode is perfectly suited for novice users and part-time operators who may be required to perform scanning outside normal working hours, and enables all users to take advantage of the high performance of this multislice CT system.
A newly developed reconstruction system supports a reconstruction speed of up to 15 images per second, allowing rapid diagnosis and fast patient throughput.

MPR IMAGE GENERATION – MULTIVIEW
MultiView automation saves time by reconstructing MPR images as a part of the exam protocol, reducing the number of images for initial review and/or printing.

AUTOMATED BONE REMOVAL
Aquilion Lightning productivity: incorporates automated bone removal algorithms to quickly and accurately segment bone in CT angiography examinations. In just a few seconds, high-quality angiographic images are available for diagnosis.
Aquilion Lightning’s user-friendly 3D imaging package allows you to generate volume images with outstanding ease of use. With a simple push of a button you select a specific protocol and the desired images are displayed
In accordance with IHE recommendations, the Radiation Exposure Monitoring Profile function is provided in the software. This function automatically records all scanning data, enabling accurate tracking of the dose for a particular study.

With a design also focusing on smaller installation space and power consumption, Aquilion Lightning requires a minimal footprint of 9.8 m2, compact enough to meet even the most restrictive siting requirements. Innovative Adaptive Power Management technologies dramatically decrease energy requirements, reducing running costs and easing the environmental impact.

By employing energy-saving techniques such as automatic control of the gantry fan, power consumption in standby status is reduced by 40% compared to conventional systems.
AIDR 3D enables low dose, excellent image quality, and great cost performance. How does it increase patient throughput? With AIDR 3D, cooling time is eliminated, so more examinations can be performed.
POWER SAVE MODE
The Power Save Mode puts the CT to sleep at a configured time when not using the system, e.g. after 10 minutes. While the CT is asleep, power is saved in the gantry, in the couch, in the fans but also in the generator. With one click on any button the system will wake up again and is immediately ready for operation.
