Caroline Deacon

Director of Human Resources

Caroline joined Canon Medical Systems Ltd (formerly Toshiba Medical Systems) in 2005 and in the subsequent two decades has delivered many successful people-focused strategies in HR, Learning & Development, Recruitment and Employee Engagement. Today, as Director of Human Resources, she and her team have established a robust employer value proposition of ‘attract, retain, develop and keep well’, which lays out the commitment of the organisation to the very best employee experience for all.

“I’m all about action, and it’s my responsibility to ensure that we strategically deliver initiatives which are right for our people, for the business and our customers,” she says. This active approach is reflected in Caroline’s team, who consistently demonstrate flair and professionalism, modelling key Canon Medical values of commitment to excellence.

Beyond this, Caroline recognises each individual has a unique pathway and nothing gives her greater satisfaction than supporting others on their journey. Whether that is signposting opportunities or helping someone to grow in confidence, “I enjoy seeing those tangible differences made, whether in their performance or personal growth. I do it because I care,” she explains. “It goes with the territory – everything we do here helps our people to give their best to our healthcare professionals to look after patients.”

This sense of care and her drive to make a difference to people’s lives is very much core to Caroline’s world view and her role with Canon Medical has meant that she has been able to be true to her personal principles for the entirety of her career.
