MADE FOR LIFE ON THIS PLANET
Our actions are guided by our vision to enrich every life we touch. Central to this vision is our determination to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2045, mirroring and supporting the NHS in its ambition to become the world’s first net zero health service.
For more than 10 years, we have monitored our impact on the planet,
intentionally reducing our greenhouse gas emissions and implementing
solutions that avoid emissions in the first place.
For example, we invest in renewable energy, promote remote diagnostics, encourage repairs, improve our EV fleet, and enhance our offices.
And it shows. Our efforts have delivered significant progress. Between 2014-2023, we transitioned all purchased electricity across sites controlled by us to renewable energy and achieved a 4.1% reduction in absolute emissions. All while growing as a business.
But this is just the beginning. As we deepen our commitment to sustainability, we are exploring new ways to invest in sustainable practices that shape a future Made for Life.
SUPPORTING THE UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT GOALS
To tackle global challenges, we must work towards common goals. Canon Medical UK proudly aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals framework to positively contribute to the world. We are making strides towards a low-carbon future by prioritising renewable energy, reducing waste, and enhancing biodiversity.
Through a long-standing partnership with CO2balance, we support projects that directly advance sustainable development and improve health.
NET ZERO
BY 2045
Since 2014, we have focused on monitoring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which resulted in a 4.1% reduction in emissions by 2024.
We are making progress toward our commitment to reach Net Zero emissions by 2045. To ensure we progress toward our goal, we have set targets across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, ensuring every part of the business contributes to meaningful change.
EVERGREEN
SUSTAINABLE SUPPLIER
Canon Medical UK is pleased to have completed the NHS Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment. The Assessment is a self assessment and reporting tool and resulted in us receiving a Level 1: publicly committed to net zero carbon and engaged with sustainability.
CIRCULAR
ECONOMY
Embedding circular economy principles in our operations is a long-term strategic goal. By adopting circularity, we aim to reduce waste, extend product lifecycles, and minimise resource consumption. While we are in the early stages of our journey, we are actively exploring how to integrate these principles further throughout our value chain.
