Encouraging sustainable practices for life

The annual Green Fest, proudly designed and organised by our team, has been running since 2021. Each year, this initiative raises awareness of what we can all do to live more sustainably and put care at the heart of everything we do.
By putting care for the environment at the forefront, we empower our individuals to make meaningful changes beyond the workplace.

The Green Fest team organises activities that spark creativity and encourage practical actions to promote sustainability. From adopting sustainable habits to challenging the status quo, the focus is on encouraging team members to reflect on their environmental impact and take meaningful action. Participation is rewarded through our employee recognition programme, celebrating individual contributions.

Together, we go further

At the heart of Green Fest is our belief that collective action is key to tackling climate change. Each year, we are inspired by the creative ways our team engages in sustainable practices.
Below is a glimpse at some of our activities over the years.

Sustainable lifestyle swaps

Easy-peasy swaps

We believe in the power of small, everyday choices. Our team is encouraged to make changes, however small, to reduce their environmental impact, such as choosing reusable items or reducing waste.

Harvesting from the kitchen

Who doesn’t enjoy fresh produce? During Green Fest, individuals are encouraged to grow fresh herbs and spices at home to promote sustainable food practices. We hope this inspires our team to embrace greener habits and discover the joy of harvesting from your very own kitchen!

Community and creativity

‘Art, not waste’ competition

Our ‘Art, not waste’ competition challenges participants to rethink waste by transforming unused or recycled items into creative works of art. This initiative raises awareness about the importance of circularity, mindful consumption, and the value of reusing resources in our daily lives.

Great outdoors photo competition

In our efforts to reconnect with nature, we encourage team members to share photos that capture their outdoor adventures. The competition celebrates our team’s connection with the natural world while supporting overall wellbeing.

Steps for sustainability

Alongside supporting personal connection with nature, we run projects encouraging active lifestyles. Our Steps for Sustainability initiatives have raised awareness of projects we support while encouraging team members to be active, as they virtually walk from our HQ to projects we support.

London to Uganda

In 2021, we walked 7,925.34km on a virtual journey to Uganda, where we support various projects delivering social value.

Mooch to the mangroves

In 2023, our team collectively “walked” 7,565,297 steps to promote physical activity, reaching our target of virtually reaching the mangrove forest we helped plant in Kenya.

Charitable Impact

Clothing donations

Green Fest has been a catalyst for charitable giving. Team members collectively donated over 99kg of clothing to the Salvation Army, reducing waste and helping to provide valuable support to those in need.

Solar Panel Projects

Over three years, our team has raised £15,000 to support two different solar projects in Uganda. These funds have helped power a field clinic with lighting and refrigeration, ensuring safe vaccine and medicine storage while improving healthcare. The projects also provide communities with renewable energy, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and
promoting sustainability.
