DEVELOPING OUR TEAMS, BUILDING A FUTURE MADE FOR LIFE

Our team members’ experience is one of growth, development, and purpose. We are dedicated to empowering individuals to advance personally and professionally while working towards a common goal: enriching every life we touch.

Our dedication to education and wellbeing starts on day one. New team members undergo an extensive induction process that guides them through orientation, role-specific training, and integration into our company culture. This foundation of support and belonging helps new team members thrive from the beginning, encouraging long-term engagement and retention.

Each individual has the opportunity to develop. Whether through an apprenticeship, upskilling, professional development or learning something new, we encourage everyone to explore their potential.

COMMITTED TO EDUCATION

Tailored learning and development opportunities are accessible across all levels of an individual’s career. From junior members to senior managers, our training focuses on technical, clinical, and wellbeing skills. We also emphasise development that meets industry standards, including compliance with Medical Devices Regulations standards and adherence to ISO9001 and ISO13485.

Through ongoing development and upskilling, we support growth in our regional workforce with programmes such as our junior engineer apprenticeships, leadership development, and community mentoring initiatives.

Engineering and technical training

Our junior engineers receive dedicated training designed to meet the stringent requirements of the Medical Devices Regulations. This helps ensure they are skilled, qualified, and prepared to uphold our standards.

This specialised development programme focuses on technical proficiency, real-world experience, and industry compliance, forming a solid foundation for their careers and our customers’ needs.

Upskilling our managers

Upskilling our managers directly impacts the wellbeing and safety of our teams, creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. By receiving training in mental health awareness, our managers are equipped to build a supportive environment for their teams.

They also complete the IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ course, a 3-day programme designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge to enforce safe and effective work practices across their teams and working environments.

Management development and coaching programmes

Our structured Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) programmes are designed to build leadership capacity through collaboration and peer learning. With a focus on “people learn from people”, this programme allows leaders to enrich one another’s growth in a structured, impactful way.

Coaching sessions and collaborative assignments encourage managers to build skills in leadership, team engagement, and strategic thinking, ensuring they are well-equipped to lead effectively.

Measuring learning and development success

Our focus on qualification-based training reflects our dedication to fostering meaningful growth and excellence across our teams. In 2023 alone, our team members collectively completed an impressive 11,166 hours of training.

In 2024, we delivered 33 training sessions, engaging 360 participants in professional development. We are especially proud that 10 individuals successfully earned a Leadership & Management Qualification through our Management Development Programme, equipping them to drive positive change within our organization and beyond.

Our investment in in-person training has surged too, with a remarkable 260% increase in in-person training days, reinforcing our belief in the power of hands-on learning.
